The game on the board is real. Paul Morphy played it in Paris in 1858 against the Duke of Brunswick and Count Isouard.

Our mission

To build strategic minds through the game of chess.

  • Focus

Each class asks for a full hour of attention on one board.

  • Patience

Players learn to slow down and think before they move.

  • Decisions

Every move is a choice, and reviewing games shows what worked.

  • Confidence

Every game ends with a handshake, win or lose.

Questions

What parents ask us.

My child has never played. Is that OK?

Yes. Many students start by learning how the pieces move, and our beginner groups start from the very first move.

How do you choose my child's group?

Coaches group students by age, experience and chess level whenever possible, so every child is challenged. The trial class is where we work this out together.

What happens in the $30 trial class?

Your child joins a class. A coach gets to know them, checks their current level and recommends the best group. Then you decide.

What do the classes cover?

Everything from how the pieces move to how to win a game. That includes tricks and traps, planning, checkmates, endgames, puzzles and practice games. Coaches also go over students' games with them and help kids who want to compete get ready for tournaments.

Are there tournaments?

Yes. The Sunday semester includes a practice tournament, the club runs fast-paced blitz tournaments and workshops, and coaches can point families to outside tournaments that suit their child's level.

How long is a class, and what does it cost?

Every class is 60 minutes. Weekly classes are $175 a month. The Sunday beginners semester is $350 for 10 classes. The trial class is $30.
